Good to know the whole "underage drinking" argument hasn't changed since I was at the school. *wry* Guys? Next time you're out on the town, you might want to keep your hangovers to personal email. Can't be illegal in front of the impressionable kiddies, mind.

And see this is why I bring up things like Clarice being evil or mandatory court ordered warnings on my journal, not mentions of my underage drinking as part of a mandatory outing (it's Forge's fault, not mine!).

I guess she'll grow out of it, but I'm sort of amazed she can be that idealistic in general. I mean, how sheltered do you have to be to not realize there's far more fucked up shit going on in the world and that underaged drinking rates pretty low? Maybe that's a bit fucked up for me to say, but me and my gloom cloud just ain't understanding her.

Hey now, it got you out of the house. I bear no responsibility for any trouble that people got into after that point.

There's always trouble if I'm leaving the house. Don't you people already know that? On the bright side, I did not make any tables disintegrate.

Laurie is the epitome of sheltered. She's had a hard few months. With her being on the team, I dunno how that's going to work for her. It's not a game. And things aren't all hugs and puppies and flowers like she wants them to be. Either she's going to have to accept that and grow the hell up, or we might have problems.

She's only in the basic stages of the trainee program. That alone has washed out some folks who decided the X-Men weren't for them. Right now she's going through a rough stage, so give her a bit of leeway. She can be a lot more mature than people give her credit for.

Yeah yeah yeah. She's made of marshmallow and baby chicks, Forge. We'll see how this goes.

Why's everyone picking on Laurie? Why don't you guys just give the kid a break? It's not like her first question wasn't valid or anything, and Garrison gave her an answer she was ok with and she dropped it.

Because some people aren't aware of the real world. Some people grow up with Mommies and Daddies or Mommies or Daddies who wuv them very much and everything is sunshine and ice cream and sprinkles until the day that oopsies! Junior has cracked DNA.

However, some people live in a world where Mommy got knocked up and didn't tell Daddy. Then fifteen years later Mommy gets a drug habit and then decides to chuck her darling daughter out on her ass because she was high and caught the little miss having sex with her boyfriend.

I've been homeless, had the everloving shit kicked out of me because I was a 'freak', and I'm also the star witness in a case that goign to trial here in November because I got home one day and found my best friend dead on the kitchen floor.

That, honey, is the real world. In fact, I don't blame Laurie for wanting to stay in her little box.

I get it. Pulling "misery loves company" crap. Whatever.

Yeah - she's sheltered compared to me and I'm the Sydney princess. But then, alcohol has always been a very loaded topic for half my family. (Which is one of the reasons Christmas is fun)

I'd rather just remember that a)I didn't start it this time and b)I know better than to be hungover on the journals, these days. Mostly.

Dude, I used to post hungover all the time. I just never outright said I was hungover or the night before involved alcohol. I was always smarter than that.

Unfortunately, for me, hangovers = sharp drop in IQ for at least five hours.

Well, guess we should start hoping for the grow the hell up option. I dunno, I feel a little hypocritical being down on her. Truth be told, if things were different I might be more like her. As it is, things are different and being released into Muir hands here after being arrested for killing my father hasn't exactly improved my general disposition in the world, ya know?

She'll figure things out real quick, I think. Either she'll drop off the team or she'll deal. There's not really a third option, is there?
